Civil Rights Activist Johnnie Carr was a vital part of the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1954. She served along side Dr. Martin Luther King as founders and administrators of the Montgomery Improvement Association. She and her husband allowed their son to serve as a plaintiff in a lawsuit to desegregate Montgomery County Schools. Mrs. Carr passed away on February 22nd, 2008.
